Q. Which countries are eligible to take part in the programme?
A. The programme is aimed at ‘Europe’ which means in this case ‘all members of the European Union plus Switzerland’
Q. How do I know if I am eligible to take part?
A. If you are a national of one of the above countries and you are actively looking for a new job, then you should be eligible, however the final decision rests with the Fund administrator
Q. What information is required to show my status?
A. We ask for information regarding your current or former employer and the kind of work you are looking for. This, together with your signed declaration that you are looking for a new job, will be used to evaluate your funding.
Q. If I fit all the criteria, is funding guaranteed?
A. No, the Fund has limited amounts it can pay out each month, so it is on a “first come, first served” basis. The Fund is committed to paying 30% of your tuition costs if it agrees to fund you. You are responsible for all other costs (accommodation, meals, etc)
Q. When can I take my course?
A. The agreement between Kingsway English Centre and the Busy Bee Fund runs from now until 31stDecember 2009, so you can take your course anytime during this period (subject to availability). It is possible that this may be extended to include 2010 but this is at the choice the the Busy Bee Fund and is not within Kingsway's power to decide.
Q. Can I use the grant at any school I choose?
A. No, the BBF has nominated Kingsway English Centre as its provider of English language training, so you must take your course there. Kingsway has 20 years experience of providing top quality English language training and is accredited by the British Council. You can be assured of a very high quality programme and this is one of the reasons that the school has been chosen.
Q. Can I take any Kingsway course?
A. No, the Fund is seeking to maximise its effectiveness and has only selected the General English Group (GEG) and Business English Group (BEG) courses as eligible for assistance.
Q. How do I apply?
A. Fill in the online application form and submit. Once we have acknowledged your application please click the payment link that will be sent to you by email and make a payment of GBP200 by Visa or MasterCard. If your application for grant aid is successful and you choose to go ahead with your booking this deposit becomes non-refundable and will be deducted from your Kingsway invoice. If your funding is NOT successful the deposit will be returned to you.
